Why do I need my home monitored?

Most insurance companies require that when a home is unoccupied that a competent person perform regular checks on your property in order to retain proper coverage. These requirements depend on your individual policy so we ask you to review these details so we know exactly how frequently to schedule visits. Vacant property can be a concern. Incidents can happen and damage can be compounded when no one is aware of a problem for an extended period. These risks can be potentially avoided by a home-watch service.

What is included in your service?

At Mountainside Home Watch we understand that every home has its own unique requirements. All clients work off the framework of our standard package and adjustments, whether it be more or less, are  adapted to owner and insurance companies specifications.

Is Mountainside Home Watch insured?

Yes, we carry a $2,000,000 commercial liability policy. All staff have valid and current RCMP criminal record checks and we are licensed by Resort Municipality of Whistler.

What if there is a situation at my home?

Mountainside Home Watch provides 24/7 emergency response to fire and security alarms as well as the assurance your home will be checked inside and out within 24 hrs of a major weather event. If there is a situation that arises with your property, our experience and judgment will allow us to handle it with a calculated response.  If the situation is an emergency, it will be handled in the fastest, safest, and most cost-effective way.  In a non-emergency situation, you will be contacted to discuss and implement a course of action.

Is a Home Watch service a security service?

No, but we will work in conjunction with your alarm company.  It is the sense that having a visible presence in your empty home may act as a crime deterrent.  We are here to answer alarm calls and are familiar with procedures to inform local law enforcement.

What happens if my plans change?

We understand that things can change at a moment’s notice and our service agreement can be cancelled at any time.  Any prepaid visits will be credited back to you.
